วีณารัตน์ เลาหภคกุล ทำงานในฐานะผู้สื่อข่าวของสถานีโทรทัศน์เนชั่น แชนแนลมานานกว่าสิบปี ปัจจุบันทำหน้าที่พิธีกรในรายการข่าวภาคเช้าและชีพจรโลก ให้กับสถานีโทรทัศน์เนชั่น แชลแนล รวมทั้งรายการ Viewpoint ออกอากาศทางสถานีโทรทัศน์อาเซียนทีวี นอกจากเป็นพิธีกรแล้ว วีณารัตน์ยังร่วมทำงานเบื้องหลังการผลิตรายการชีพจรโลกและ Viewpoint โดยมุ่งนำเสนอข่าวสารจากทุกมุมโลก เคยมีโอกาสสัมภาษณ์บุคคลสำคัญระดับโลกหลายคน อาทิ ฮิลลารี่ คลินตัน รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ดร.มูฮัมหมัด ยูนุส นักเศรษฐศาสตร์ชาวบังคลาเทศ เจ้าของรางวัลโนเบลสาขาสันติภาพ ประจำปี 2006 ผู้ก่อตั้งธนาคารกรามีน ริชาร์ด โกลด์สโตน อดีตผู้พิพากษาศาลสูงสุดของสาธารณรัฐแอฟริกาใต้ ดร.เมล กิลล์ ผู้เขียนหนังสือ ‘สุดยอดเดอะซีเคร็ต’ หรือ ‘ความลับเหนือโลก’ (The Meta Secret) และดาราดัง แจ็คกี้ ชาน หรือเฉินหลง รวมทั้งเคยถ่ายทำสารคดีในประเทศเกาหลีเหนือและเจาะลึกงานมหกรรมโลกเซี่ยงไฮ้ ในปี พ.ศ. 2553 วีณารัตน์ ยังเป็นผู้ทำหน้าที่แปลและรายงานข่าวด่วน จากภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาไทยในเหตุการณ์ข่าวสำคัญให้แก่สถานีโทรทัศน์เนชั่น แชนแนล เช่น ข่าวการเลือกตั้งประธานาธิบดีประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาในปี พ.ศ. 2547 และ ปี พ.ศ. 2551 นอกจากนั้นยังเป็นผู้ดำเนินรายการสัมมนาในหัวข้อหลากหลาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นต่างประเทศ การเมือง เศรษฐกิจและประเด็นทางสังคมต่างๆ

Veenarat Laohapakakul has been a TV journalist at cable news network Nation Channel for 10 years and currently hosts 3 programs – the weekly international affairs ‘World Beat’ program and a daily morning news update program (aired on Nation Channel) as well as a weekly interview ‘Viewpoint’ program (aired on the cable channel Asean TVl). For ‘World Beat’ and ‘Viewpoint’, she’s mainly responsible for the direction and content of the programs, both of which aim to provide the audience with fun and informative reporting on current world affairs. Past episodes of "World Beat" include interviews with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Dr. Muhummad Yunus of Grameen Bank, and actor Jackie Chan as well as documentaries on traveling inside North Korea and exploring Shanghai Expo 2010. Past interviewees of "Viewpoint" include South Africa Constitutional Court judge Richard Goldstone, author Dr. Mel Gill of Meta Secret, and business executives. Veenarat also provides simultaneous translation (English-Thai) for important news events on Nation Channel, such as the U.S. Presidential elections in both 2008 and 2004. Veenarat also moderates seminars, covering a wide range of topics including foreign, political, economic, and social issues.
