โสทิค ฮก เข้าดำรงตำแหน่งผู้อำนวยการขององค์กรพัฒนาเอกชน SIPAR ประจำประเทศกัมพูชา ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2547 เป็นต้นมา (SIPAR เป็นชื่อย่อจากภาษาฝรั่งเศส Soutien à l’Initiative Privée pour l’Aide à la Reconstruction หมายถึง “support to private initiative in aid to reconstruction”) เขารับหน้าที่ในการบริหารทีมผู้ร่วมงานจากทั่วโลกกว่า 38 คน และประสานงานในโครงการด้านการศึกษาจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 4 โครงการ โดยมุ่งเน้นไปยังการพัฒนาด้านการอ่านและการจัดพิมพ์หนังสือในประเทศกัมพูชา โสทิคสำเร็จการศึกษาด้านอารยธรรมและวรรณคดีรัสเซียและฝรั่งเศส เขาได้รับปริญญาโทสาขาครุศาสตร์จากประเทศรัสเซีย และต่อมาได้ศึกษาต่อที่ประเทศฝรั่งเศสจนได้รับปริญญาโทอีกใบหนึ่งทางด้านการฝึกอบรมและการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม ก่อนหน้าที่จะเข้ารับตำแหน่งผู้อำนวยการ เขาร่วมงานกับองค์การ SIPAR โดยรับผิดชอบงานมาแล้วในหลายตำแหน่งหน้าที่ นอกจากนั้นโสทิคยังได้เข้าร่วมเป็นคณะบริหารขององค์กรพัฒนาเอกชนท้องถิ่นอีก 2 หน่วยงาน ที่มีพันธกิจในการส่งเสริมการศึกษาสำหรับเด็กไร้โอกาส นั่นคือ องค์กร “เพื่อน/มิทสัมลันห์” (Friends/Mith Samlanh) ซึ่งเชี่ยวชาญในการดูแลให้การศึกษาแก่เด็กเร่ร่อน และ ครูว์ซาร ทเมยย์ (Krousar Thmey) ที่เน้นการศึกษาเพื่อเด็กพิการทางหูและสายตา โสทิคเป็นนักอ่านตัวยง เขาสามารถพูดและอ่านได้ถึง 4 ภาษา ได้แก่ ภาษาเขมร รัสเซีย ฝรั่งเศส และอังกฤษ ทุกวันนี้ เขามีความภูมิใจอย่างยิ่งที่ได้มีโอกาสนำทีมงานขององค์การ SIPAR กัมพูชาในการส่งเสริมโอกาสในการเรียนรู้สู่ประชาชนของประเทศ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งการให้การศึกษาและความรู้สู่เด็กๆ ชาวกัมพูชา

Mr. Sothik Hok

The director of SIPAR, (Soutien à l’Initiative Privée pour l’Aide à la Reconstruction ) since 2004, Sothik Hok is in charge of the management of an international team of 38 persons and the general coordination of 4 Education Programs focusing on Reading Development and Book Publishing in Cambodia. A graduate in Russian and French literature and civilization, Sothik holds a Master of Arts in Education and a second Masters in Training and Social Transformation. Sothik held various positions within the SIPAR before becoming its Director in 2004. Sothik is also a member of the Board of Directors of two local NGO working in promoting of Education for marginalized children: Friends/Mith Samlanh (specializing in the education of street children) and Krousar Thmey (working in the field of education for deaf and blind children). Sothik is a passionate reader and speaks Khmer, Russian, French and English. He is pleased to be leading an enthusiastic SIPAR team in promoting access to all people, especially children, to education and knowledge.
