วิทยากร เชียงกูล
เกิดและเติบโตที่อำเภอบ้านหมอ สระบุรี
ย้ายตามครอบครัวเข้ามาอยู่กรุงเทพฯ
และเรียนชั้นมัธยมที่โรงเรียนสวนกุหลาบวิทยาลัย ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2503
และศึกษาต่อในชั้นอุดมศึกษาที่คณะเศรษฐศาสตร์ ธรรมศาสตร์ ในปี พ.ศ.
2508 จากนั้นเดินทางไปศึกษาที่สถาบันศึกษาสังคม ที่เมืองเฮก
เนเธอร์แลนด์ ในระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2523-2524
รศ.วิทยากรเคยทำงานประจำกองบรรณาธิการสำนักพิมพ์ไทยวัฒนาพานิชในระหว่างศึกษาที่มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์
หลังจากเรียนจบปริญญาตรี เข้าทำงานเป็นนักเศรษฐศาสตร์ฝ่ายวิจัยวางแผน
ที่ธนาคารกรุงเทพ จากนั้นเข้าทำงานเป็นอาจารย์คณะสังคมศาสตร์
มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ และผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการสำนักกรรมการผู้จัดการ
(ด้านการวิจัยและวางแผน) ธนาคารกรุงเทพพาณิชยการจนถึง พ.ศ. 2534
ตั้งแต่ปีพ.ศ. 2534
รศ.วิทยากรทำงานที่มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิตเรื่อยมาจวบจนถึงปัจจุบัน
ดำรงตำแหน่งล่าสุดเป็นคณบดีกิตติคุณ วิทยาลัยนวัตกรรมสังคม
มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต
รศ.วิทยากรเคยเป็นนักเขียนบทความให้หนังสือพิมพ์หลายฉบับ
เขียนและแปลหนังสือที่พิมพ์เป็นเล่มถึงปลายปี 2554 ราว 120 เล่ม
ได้รับรางวัลนักเขียนบทความดีเด่นกองทุนอายุมงคลโสณกุล ปี 2536
และได้รับรางวัลศรีบูรพา ประจำปี 2541
มีตำแหน่งทางวิชาการเป็นรองศาสตราจารย์ สาขาวิชาเศรษฐศาสตร์
ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้เป็นประธานอำนวยการการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชนในการจัดทำรัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย
สำนักงานเลขาธิการนายกรัฐมนตรีในช่วงปลายปี 2549-2550

Wittayakorn
Chiengkul
Born and raised in the Saraburi’s Ban Mor district, Wittayakorn and
his family later moved to settle in Bangkok. He attended Suan Kularp
school in 1960 then started his tertiary education at the Faculty of
Economics, Thammasart University in 1965. Wittayakorn then went to
study at Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands in 1980.
While studying at Thammasart University, he also worked as an
editorial staff member at Thai Wattana Panich Publishing House.
After graduation, he became an economist attached to the Research
and Planning Office of the Bangkok Bank. After his return from
Netherlands, Wittayakorn pursued his academic career at Chiang Mai
University's Faculty of Sociology and then worked as Assistant
Director, Research and Planning Office at Bangkok Commercial Bank.
In 1991, Wittayakorn joined the academic team at Rangsit University,
where he currently works as dean of the College of Social
Innovation.
In 2006-2007, he was appointed as chairman of the people’s
participation in the preparation of the Constitution of the Kingdom
of Thailand, under the Office of the Prime Minister.
Wittayakorn is the author of numerous articles for Thai newspapers
and has more than 120 journal articles published under his name.
Wittayakorn's articles have received an Outstanding Award from
Ayumongkol Sonakul Fund in 1993 and the Sri Burapha Award in 1998.
